Esme Rock

Published on 27/03/2014

Joyous Celebration for the life Esme Rock The friendly old lady, who sat at her 1st floor window, speaking to all who came on her street! Esme lived at No 17 Kenmure Road for almost 50 years, has sadly died suddenly and peacefully, in Whipps Cross Hopsital on 12 March 2014, after being diagnosed with liver cancer. Esme was a major phenomena in Kenmure Road, even appearing on Google Maps, staring from her window. Esme attracting the attention of numerous individuals, who would park to go do their shopping, to stop and talk to her, even on some occasions (due her loving, trusting nature) she would give many, tours of her home, which was mainly to keep them chatting for longer. However, in May 2013, due to her dementia, she had to be moved into a care home by her niece Jane, who had been responsible for arranging Esmes home care. When Esmes house was being renovated, for the occupancy of tenants, during June to August 2013, there was an unprecedented amount of well wishers wanting to know of Esmes health and whereabouts. In fact, the builders working on her property, ask whether someone famous had actually lived in the property. So it seems that in Esmes own unique way, she had built up quiet a fan base, from sitting at her window or standing on her doorstep. There are so very many caring individuals, who it may be impossible to personally contact, informing them of Esmes sad death, so it seemed essential, that this tribute be made, to a remarkably friendly old lady, who loved life, people and laughter so infectiously! Esme funeral will be conducted on 3rd April 2014 The corsage will commence at Downs Park Road at 10.30 a.m Leading onto Amhurst Road, towards Hackney Downs Slowing down as it past No. 79 Amhurst Road (where Esmes previously lived) Bearing right at traffic lights, continuing on Amhurst Road, turning into Kenmure Road Stopping for 1 full minute, outside No.17 (her home for almost 50 years). Turning onto Brett Road, back to Amhurst Road, then passing the Hackney Empire, Esmes former bingo hall and second home! Proceeding straight on to pass Well Street, then turning onto King Edward Road, To St. John the Baptist Church, E9 7SF For the Service at 11.a.m. Should anyone wish to attend, it is requested that you be at the church at 10.30 a.m. please!
