A vegan Caribbean restaurant is set to open in Angel, Islington.
Jam Delish’s new venue at 1 Tolpuddle Street will open on Friday, December 16.
The company is a mother and son partnership between Stacey Hohn and Jordan Johnson that began at the start of the Covid pandemic.
Jordan, 29, said: “This will be our first flagship restaurant. Our product is niche which is why we’ve done well so far. When we open, I expect us to be really busy.”
He added: “When I went vegan six years ago, I couldn’t find any restaurant serving Caribbean food where I could eat the traditional dishes. So, our concept was to create the more well-known Caribbean dishes but put a vegan twist on them.”
Between February and August 2022, the restaurant was based at The Sun & 13 Cantons pub near Carnaby Street in Soho, where stars such as Black Panther actor Letitia Wright came to dine.
Speaking about the new restaurant, Jordan said: “We don’t want it to be a restaurant, we want it to be a destination.”
Customers can receive 20 per cent off their bill during the opening weekend (December 16-18).
