A man who was killed in an Islington stabbing on Christmas Day has been named.

Claudius Francis, 54, was pronounced dead at an address in Holloway Road at 4.55pm on Sunday (December 25).

Emergency services were called following concerns for the welfare of a resident, and the victim was found with stab injuries.

Despite the efforts of the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, Claudius was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination held on Monday (December 26) confirmed he died from multiple stab wounds.

Amar Nafazy, 55, of Holloway Road, was also charged on Monday with murder.

He will appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrate’ Court today (December 27).

Police are continuing to investigate the murder.
