Road closures are in place in a busy north London road after firefighters tackled a blaze in a flat.
Parts of Caledonian Road in Islington are shut after the London Fire Brigade was called to a flat fire at around 9.20am this morning (June 26).
The blaze took more than an hour to put out, with the fire declared under control at around 10.45am.
Pictures from the scene appeared to show two fire engines outside a chemist in the road.
A LFB spokesperson confirmed that part of a maisonette flat on the first and second floors of a mixed-use three storey building was damaged by fire.
Members of the public have been urged to avoid the area while possible, as fire crews remain at the scene.
Two fire engines from Islington and Euston fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
