A seventh youth has been charged with the murder of a teenage boy in 2022.
A 16-year-old was arrested on Friday (February 16) in connection with the fatal stabbing of Deshaun James Tuitt, 15, in Highbury Fields shortly before 9pm on August 4, 2022.
He appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court this morning and is due to appear at the Central Criminal Court on Tuesday (February 20).
Six other teenage boys - three aged 16, two aged 15 and one aged 17 - have previously appeared in court charged with Deshaun’s murder.
A remaining male suspect remains at large, and officers have issued an appeal to trace him.
In an appeal issued on February 3, Deshaun’s family said they are “devastated by his death”.
They added: "We, as a family, understand that people are scared to come forward and speak to the police. We urge people to do the right thing.
“This is not an insignificant crime, it’s a murder and someone knows what happened that day. Justice won’t bring Deshaun back but at least we, as a family, can know what happened.”
Officers have urged anyone with information on the incident or the man in the photo to call the police as soon as possible on 0208 345 3865 stating CAD 7948/04AUG22.
Information can also be sent anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
