A fire caused by "unsafe" cigarette disposal has destroyed a flat above a shop as residents fled the five-storey building.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) responded to a blaze on St Thomas's Road, Finsbury Park, after being called at 10.27pm on Wednesday (July 31).
A man evacuated the building before the LFB had arrived and three others were led to safety.
"A three-roomed flat on the third floor of the five-storey building was destroyed by fire," a LFB spokesperson added.

The fire is being treated as accidental, believed to have been caused by the unsafe disposal of smoking materials.
"If you smoke it is vitally important you stub it right out, preferably in an ashtray," an LFB spokesperson said.
"If you don’t, you risk causing a fire as you don’t know what it may land on which could potentially start a fire."
The LFB had the fire under control by midnight (August 1) after four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Holloway, Stoke Newington and Islington fire stations attended.
