Met Office issues another rain warning for London

The rain warning will be in place from 12am on Friday, September 6 through to 11.59pm the same day.

This warning was initially in place from 9pm today (September 4) through to 9am tomorrow (September 5) but the Met Office has removed it.

According to the Met Office, this means that there may be travel disruption and flooding.

Londoners should expect a “slight chance of power cuts” and potentially the loss of other services.

There is a “small chance” that homes and businesses could flood which the Met Office warns could cause damage to some buildings.

When there is flooding, trains and bus services could be delayed or cancelled as well as spray and flooding leading to “difficult driving conditions” and some road closures.

The Met Office also warns Londoners of the small chance that fast flowing or deep floodwater could cause “danger to life”.

Today the Met Office forecasts that weather will be dry and bright, but a band of showery rain will arrive in the afternoon.

This will lead to “slow-moving and scattered showers”.

Tomorrow (September 5) weather is set to be cloudy with more outbreaks of rain which could be heavy and thundery.

However, the rain is set to ease throughout the day with the air feeling more humid.

In its predicted outlook from Friday to Sunday, the Met Office predicts it will be cloudy with more persistent and heavy rain.

There may also be thunder.

It is also likely to be warm and humid with light winds.
