Former world champion boxer Amir Khan will be coming to Islington for the launch of a new Indian street food eatery.
FiLLi, which has more than 100 outlets across ten countries, will be opening up its latest branch in Lever Street, Islington.
Khan will be at its launch this Wednesday (September 25), claiming that the chai tea offered at the chain is the best he ever tried.
The former two-time world boxing champion said: “It’s really exciting to have FiLLi Café come to the UK.
“So many people across the UAE love this brand. My family loves it, their tea is the best I have tried.
“I am delighted to open FiLLi’s latest venture in Islington and look forward to being involved in expanding this brand across the country.”
FiLLi offers its signature Zafran Chai and an all-day menu ranging from bun kebabs, burgers, toasties, wraps and masala fries.
Its breakfast offers a variety of omelettes and paratha wraps, as well as full English and vegetarian breakfast options.
The chain also sells herbal and iced teas, including its award-winning Zafran chai, and artisan coffees, smoothies and milkshakes.
There are plans to open up even more UK stores across the UK over the next five years.
Saad Awan, business development director for FiLLI, said: “Our stores are comfortable, relaxed and easy-going, and people simply adore our chai.
“Our successful flagship stores in London and Manchester have proved that the UK market is ready for the best chai going.
“Our customers travel from all over the country to experience our signature saffron tea and our food with its authentic spices, herbs, and exciting flavour twists.”
