It's the time of year as the nights draw in when we all need some bright lights to look forward to.
This means a good firework display, and maybe a bonfire, courtesy of either Bonfire Night or Diwali.
Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival runs over two nights - November 1 and 2 and includes new for this year a spectacular drone display. There are sets by Artful Dodger and the Cuban Brothers bringing the party vibes, an indoor German Bier Fest complete with foot-stomping Oompah Band, tribute acts to ABBA and Oasis, a funfair, Ice Discos and a very big bonfire.
Diwali, celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains, is known as the festival of light and is celebrated with lanterns, decorated oil lamps, and spectacular fireworks.
One of the most colourful and important festivals of the calendar, it's a time to celebrate charity, goodwill, family, and the love of God.
BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir - better known as Neasden temple - hosts some of the largest Diwali and Hindu New Year celebrations in the country culminating in a spectacular firework display.
Free and open to all, this year's celebration is on October 31st with the shrines open all day, incredible food and stalls in the Diwali Village, and fireworks at 8pm at Gibbons Recreation Grounds, opposite the temple.
There's a special bus service operating from Neasden Tube station every 10 minutes.
Wembley Park has programmed a free three day festival of Diwali activities from November 1 to November 3, including a lantern parade with giant elephant puppets, DJs, dancing and music.
The feast of South Asian art culture and traditions gets underway on FRiday November 1 at the Designer Outlet with Bhangra music, henna artists, and performances by BollyRed Dance Company, and Dhol drummers.
On November 2 there's a Diwali Utsav takeover at the Sound Shell stage on Olympic Way. Co-curated by DJ Ritu MBE the South Asian arts festival sees performances by BollyRed Dance Company, Odissi dance specialist Maryam Shakiba, spoken word poetry from Niroshini Somasundaram, music from Preetha Narayanan, Giuliano Modarelli and Harkiret Singh Bahra and The Flute Guy, and Kalpana Doshi leading her popular Laughter Yoga workshops.
Ahead of DJ Ritu's closing set there's an electrifying fire dance performance.
Also on November 2, families can join free lantern-making workshops at Fresh Arts and as dusk falls, they will light up Wembley Park Boulevard in a magical parade led by Dhol2Dhol - who play the double-headed drum central to Bhangra music. Joining the parade will be Jack in the Box's life-size elephant puppets, inspired by Lord Ganesha.
Then on Sunday November 3, there's the free but ticketed ‘Disco Diwali! at BOXPARK Wembley with DJ Ritu bringing her Bollywood club night to the venue

We've brought together an eclectic mix of artists and different voices from across South Asia - you'll see everything from classical Odissi dance to modern British South Asian fusion. That's always been important in my work - using music and dance to connect people from all backgrounds. I'm especially looking forward to bringing my Kuch Kuch Nights club sound to BOXPARK Wembley. It'll be a fantastic way to end the weekend, getting everyone together on the dancefloor!"
Harrow Fireworks in Byron Park takes place the weekend after Diwali on Saturday November 9th.
Between midday and 3pm the site in Peel Road is hosting street food, a funfair, and crafts market. The 20 minute display itself costs from £10 per ticket and includes pre-show fun from FIZZ Kids Entertainment with a licensed bar and the musical display kicking off at 7.45pm. Nearest tube Harrow and Wealdstone.
Coram's Fields in Bloomsbury is hosting a free firework night on November 5th.
The event regularly draws 6,000 people to the open space in Guildford Street and starts at 3.30pm with children's funfair rides, delicious food, performances by young people including the St Albans Children's Choir, and a Bollywood dance group, and an 18 minute display at 6pm which they hope will bring 'lasting memories' for children and their families.
The Walker Cricket Ground in Southgate hosts a firework display on Saturday 2nd November.
Gates open at 5pm with the display at 7.30pm in Waterfall Road, N14. There are funfair rides and inflatables on the night alongside food and drink including burgers, hotdogs, jerk chicken doughnuts, waffles, toffee apples and candy floss. Tickets cost £12 per adult or £35 for a family ticket. Nearest tubes Arnos Grove or Southgate.
