Upper Street will be shut for most nights over the next three weeks while resurfacing work takes place.
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that this work will force the diversion of a number of bus routes in Islington.
The resurfacing work will take place in three phases, meaning different sections of the road will be shut off over the next three weeks.
Restrictions will first be put in place at 8pm on Monday (October 28), blocking off Upper Street between Essex Road and Canonbury Road until 6am on November 15.
These closures will run from 8pm to 6am every weekday night except from Friday over this period.
The second phase of work will begin on November 3 at 8am, preventing traffic from travelling northbound between Pentonville Road and Islington Green.
This closure will run for 22 hours straight, ending at 6am the next day (November 4).
The final phase of work will block off traffic southbound between Highbury Corner and City Road. Essex Road will also be closed in both directions.
This closure will start at 8am on November 17 and run until 6am the next day (November 18).
The work is expected to impact bus routes 4,19, 30, 43, N19, N41 and N277.
