An application for a pub to undergo a refurbishment and redecoration is just one of the planning applications received by Camden Council this week. 

Just less than 90 planning proposals were submitted to the council between October 15 and 21, ranging from standard home extensions to more unusual applications. 

The success of each submission has yet to be decided. 

In Camden Town, a pub located in Mornington Terrace could be given a complete makeover if given the go-ahead by Camden Council.

The venue is a Grade II listed public house according to Historic England. 

The pub is believed to have been built in 1839 and has what it claims to be Camden's "biggest beer garden" on its Instagram (2024/4491/L). 

In Belsize Park's Daleham Mews, an application has proposed to change a commercial garage into residential accommodation. 

The application features plans to install a new hipped roof to the front, with a dormer window to the rear roof and new doors to replace the existing garage ones (2024/4335/P).

The plans include a change of use and partial demolition, restoration and refurbishment of Holborn Union Main Range, the Admin block, and Charterhouse Buildings.

This is intended to provide residential accommodation.

In the same application, applicant the London Borough of Islington is looking to demolish the Furnival Building, Ely Building, Staple Building and other structures to make way for three new residential buildings.

A local commercial and community space would form part of the new buildings, if approved.  

A change of use and partial demolition, restoration and refurbishment of the Clerkenwell buildings would provide student accommodation, with the demolition of Nurses Accommodation Buildings also proposed( 2024/4406/P).
