Around 350 people have been evacuated from their homes after a gas leak.
Firefighters set a 50-metre cordon Parkhurst Road in Holloway today (November 4) at 12.57pm.
There were reports of a “strong smell of gas” and the road was shut for hours.
Around 350 people have been evacuated from the area.
Pictures at the scene show at least four fire engines at the scene as the road is shut.
One eyewitness, Jamesie Co-De, said that he saw “loads of students in their pyjamas” due to the evacuation.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Firefighters are working alongside the gas board and multi-agency partners to make the scene safe and assist members of the public who have been evacuated. People are advised to avoid the area at this time.”
Gas provider Cadent has not reported anything about this incident on its website, but has been approached for comment.
