A knife-wielding moped crook struck a busy Upper Street pub last night and stole a man’s Rolex watch.
A Met spokeswoman this morning said officers were called to the Vineyard, across from Islington Town Hall, at about 9.15pm. No one has been arrested over the snatch.
Pub-goer Lucy Watt told the Gazette this morning: “A moped entered the gated terrace area and a man with a high-vis jacket and knife ripped a watch from a man drinking in the terrace, cutting his arm slightly in the process.
“He ripped off his shirt, too. Drinkers in the pub feared a terrorist knife attack and ran to hide and blockaded the toilets.”
It happened yards away from where Marcel Campbell, 30, was stabbed to death in May.
