Two Islington men have been convicted for their part in an Upper Street bar fight in which a man was stabbed in the face.
On Saturday, November 15 last year, Barnaby Stewart, George Adams and George Allpress gave unwanted attention to some women in the bar.
Words were exchanged with their boyfriends and the three men were asked to leave. As they did so, a fight broke out between the groups.
Allpress, of Bloomsbury, produced a knife, slashed two of the men across the face and stabbed a third in the face.
Meanwhile, Stewart and Adams, both of Canonbury, kicked and punched other men from the group.
They left before police arrived. The three victims were taken to hospital, where they received stitches for their injuries.
After a manhunt, Allpress was arrested on December 10, Adams on March 3 and Stewart on July 22.
At a Blackfriars Crown Court hearing last Friday, Stewart, 31, of Canonbury Crescent, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.
Adams, 25, of Rona Walk, was given nine months, suspended for 12 months.
Both had pleaded guilty to affray.
Allpress, 25, of Frederick Street, Bloomsbury, was jailed for 13 years at Wood Green Crown Court in June, for three counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon and possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Det Cons Alex Simmons, from Islington Police, said: “This incident stemmed out of a relatively minor dispute and shows the horrifying consequences that carrying a knife can have.
“The police will not tolerate violent crime and will diligently pursue those responsible.”
