Darren ‘The Sniper’ Canty was named man of the match after his 180 led his Robert Peel teammates to an 8-6 triumph at the Nambucca as the Archway Darts League Cup returned.

As the pendulum swung to a 7-5 margin for the ‘Bucca’, the tail end of the singles saw hurried and disjointed losing performances for the hosts as 17 year-old Harry Delaney hit the winning double to complete a heroic comeback for the Peel.

Doyles lost 8-4 at The Crown as golden-ager Jim Curran hit a 180 and Stuart Pickles followed with a 16-dart leg, Scott Robinson fought to tame the visitors early on with a 136 out-shot but it wasn’t enough to stop the tidal wave from the double-winners in another classic battle between the two heavyweights.

The N19 were beaten at the Corner Flag by the hosts 8-5 as the visitors were out-skilled on the doubles.

Elsewhere, Dylan Osborn was commended by his PJ O’Connors comrades as his 17-dart leg bolstered a huge 8-3 triumph over the Old Oak in the top-half of the league with the loss all but ending the Oak’s chances of qualifying for the cup final.
